I’m a big fan of interesting pottery and love thrifting interesting pieces but why not make some one-off pottery yourself. Seeing as most people don’t casually own a potters wheel, this project simply uses air dry clay, some water and your fingers. If you use plastic bottles in the centre they can even function with fresh flowers, holding some water. The best thing about these is that it doesn’t matter if they’re a bit wonky because it all adds to the charm. Materials Air dry clay (I actually prefer this brand ) Plastic bottles or any other small container Bowl of Water Scalpel or specialised clay tool Rolling pin Acrylic paint and baking soda if you’d like to paint them Vase with handles Step 1 Take a chunk of the clay and roll out to roughly two centimetres thick and making sure it’s slightly taller than your bottle. This was a little passion project I’d been meaning to do for 2 years and finally it’s finished. This space was looking a bit bland so I wanted to inject some warmth and personality, as well as making it a more interactive space and I think both were achieved. Maggie got a bright pink set of keys as a freebie with a magazine a few months back and she loved them. She was taking them with her in her pocket or popping them in her basket to take ‘shopping’. It was really sweet aside from how disgusting the keys were. I hate plastic tat as you might have guessed so I decided to make a new set that are easier on the eyes. Much better! You’ll need… Fimo polymer clay in White & Sahara Marabu porcelain paint in White Small paintbrush Scalpel  or stanley knife rolling pin 20mm split rings Wooden link (40 x 7mm) Pencil and paper/card All purpose glue Step 1 Start by rolling out a ball of the white clay to about 3mm thickness. I started eyeing up this trend at the start of lockdown and I’ve been dreaming of a room to do it in and more importantly time to do it, ever since. It’s such a great idea, particularly for renters who may not want to fully commit to a whole room full of painted walls. This is a great way of getting creative in your home and adding a little pop of colour. still trying to find the source (please help me if you know) I love the idea of an arch behind the bed, especially if you didn’t have a headboard. This subtle colour, breaks up the space without it being to overpowering. The French Folk I love how original this is! It’s a fun way to include lots of different colours and the ripped paper effect means you don’t even need to be too particular along those edges. It works really well in tonal colours.
